Knitting Costa Rica Style!

Last week I was invited to a Workshop at Marcella's (the lady whose house we are renting) parents house to learn how to knit.  The pretty lady sitting in the white chair is the instructor, Jennifer.  Behind her and to the left is Roselin, Marcella's Mother.  The little boy in the photo is adorable and quite entertaining.

More knitters.

We used an oblong board with a hole in the middle surrounded by small nails.  It was very similar to they spool knitting I used to do when I was a child.

As you can see here, the Scarf comes out the bottom through the hole in the center in the board.  Not only was it fun to learn a new craft but I also had a pedicure from the Mother of the little boy.  Cost:  $2.00.

Sometimes what we see outside our window doesn't even look real!!
