Day 11 - La Posada

We apologize for the delay in posting. It was juat about impossible to Blog while we were traveling. For some reason nothing would work!! Do you think it could just be us?? Anyway, we arrived in San Ramon on Friday evening and stayed here at the La Posada which is beautiful, clean and tastefully done all around except for the privacy factor. The rooms ventilate into a shaft that opens to the outdoors and sound travels incredibly!! Definitely an understatement and easier to explain in person! The first night we were awake all night listening to lots of "boom boom", knocking on doors, screaming and fighting, and roosters at all hours of the night. Saturday was a bit better and finally Sunday night we had a great nights sleep, whether from exhaustion or quiet we're not quite sure!! The one really great thing about the La Posada is that they offer a breakfast to die for. It starts with a plate of fresh fruit, then your choice of American or Costa Rican traditional breakfast or Continental. We ate the former two and were stuffed!!The American breakfast consisted of toast, eggs any way, meat, lg. juice, jam, honey and coffee. The CR breakfast also included beans and a tostada but no toast!! On top of the great food, you are treated like royalty! Our room was upstairs and below Sharon is sitting in the common area near the garden and when Don went to bursh his teeth, she could hear every noise!!! Does that give you an idea of what we expeienced?? The mesh covered gardens were full of these beautiful orchids and other exotic plants!! Just amazing!
All of the rooms had these carved doors which were stored in a large area next to the check in desk. Not only were the doors carved but the furniture was also.

Sound board, I'm afraid, wouldn't be much help. This is a open air world and everything opens to the outside no matter how thick the walls are.
