Day 21 - Bananas & Coffee!

This is a close up of some coffee plants that we saw on some property we were looking at. They pick in December, January and Febuary each year and only pick the ones that are red! Not a nice job as the hills are many times very steep. Rodrego, the agent showing us property, used to pick as his Grandfather grew coffee. He says that now the Nicguargians (sp) do the picking!!

Erin these pictures are for you!! Did you know that 5 kinds of bananas grow in Costa Rica. One very small one that tastes a little like an apple, one like we get in the states, Plantain which is the one they fry and the last on one which I cannot remember the name of and is used as a vegetable in Soups!

This is an overall picture which makes a beautiful view!!

Thanks for thinking of us, Erin. For the moment, we're quite happy as Dan brought 3 large bottles of wine!! Be nice Matt!!
